Mommy Goose Child Care — Early Learning Curriculum

Eight connected domains. One thoughtful path through childhood.

Our foundation

Our Educational Philosophy

At Mommy Goose Child Care, we believe that every child’s learning journey is unique, cumulative, and unfolds naturally over time.

Built upon cutting-edge research in early childhood education, our curriculum recognizes that true learning occurs through the meaningful interplay between a child’s biology, environment, and social-cultural context.

By embedding developmental benchmarks into engaging, play-based experiences, we nurture the whole child across 8 core developmental domains—preparing them for success in school and lifelong learning.

The whole child

The 8 Core Developmental Domains

Learning takes root when every part of a child can grow together.

  1. Social-Emotional Development

    Focus

Self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and social confidence.

    In Action

Through cooperative play, guided story circles, and cozy reflection corners, children learn to navigate relationships, build self-esteem, and develop independence.

  2. Physical Development

    Focus

Gross and fine motor coordination, spatial awareness, and healthy habits.

    In Action

Outdoor play, balance obstacles, sensory crafts, and hands-on tool manipulation strengthen core muscles, dexterity, and physical confidence.

  3. Language & Literacy

    Focus

Receptive listening, expressive speech, phonological awareness, and early pre-writing skills.

    In Action

Daily read-alouds, vocabulary-rich conversations, puppetry, and letter-exploration activities lay a strong foundation for future reading and communication.

  4. Mathematics & Reasoning

    Focus

Number sense, spatial reasoning, pattern recognition, and problem-solving.

    In Action

Hands-on sorting, block engineering, counting games, and shape investigations transform abstract mathematical concepts into intuitive understanding.

  5. Social Studies

    Focus

Identity, family structures, community awareness, and cultural appreciation.

    In Action

Exploring “Me and My Community,” discovering diverse traditions, and practicing kindness to foster empathy, belonging, and global citizenship.

  6. Science & Nature

    Focus

Scientific inquiry, curiosity, observation, and natural discovery.

    In Action

Sensory bin exploration, simple cause-and-effect experiments, and outdoor nature studies encourage children to question, test, and discover like young scientists.

  7. Creative Development

    Focus

Visual arts, music, movement, dramatic play, and innovative thinking.

    In Action

Open-ended art materials, rhythm tools, dynamic movement, and imaginative dress-up spaces allow children to express their unique perspective without boundaries.

  8. Language Learning

    Focus

Immersive language exposure, auditory discrimination, and cross-cultural appreciation.

    In Action

Natural daily interactions, bilingual songs, and interactive storytelling build native-like phonetic flexibility and confidence in a secondary language.
